Webinar - The Lost Synagogues of Europe with Andrea Strongwater '70

Artist Andrea Strongwater discusses her project recreating in paint and words 83 synagogues across Europe that were destroyed during the Third Reich. Strongwater has researched Jewish communities across Europe to connect archival photos with written records that together tell the story of European Jewish life before the Holocaust. She has published an overview of the project illustrating 20 synagogues and is currently working with the Jewish Publications Society and University of Nebraska Press on a larger volume containing all 83 synagogues and expanded text.

Andrea Strongwater is a graduate of Cornell's College of Architecture, Art and Planning. Her project describes each building, its architecture and the community who built it.
