All-Ivy Beer Tasting at The Harvard Club
An Exploration of Lagers and Pilsners with John Holl, Author, Drink Beer, Think Beer: Getting to the Bottom of Every Pint
The Harvard Club once again welcomes its fellow Ivy League Club members for the annual Summer All-Ivy Beer Tasting. This year they will have John Holl, beer expert and the author of Drink Beer, Think Beer: Getting to the Bottom of Every Pint. John is also the Senior Editor of Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine and co-Host of the Steal This Beer podcast. This year they will delve into the world of lagers and pilsners. This esteemed beer category has been overshadowed with the rise of the craft beer movement, but recently it is enjoying a small batch renaissance. From classic recipes that highlight Germany and the Czech Republic to beers that kick up the flavor of the American light lager, there is a lot to explore when it comes to nuance. From dark and smoky, to crisp and biscuity, this guided tasting will open new avenues of flavor while sharing the stories and passions of talented brewers. A menu of Eastern and Central European dishes, created especially for the event by Chef David Haviland will pair beautifully with their beer selections.
