Art Class with Andrea Strongwater '70
Andrea Strongwater has been an artist forever with many interests. She paints most days and sketches with Urban Sketchers. Her work is made into books, jigsaw puzzles, paint by numbers, diamond art painting kits, lots more gift items with her original paintings collected by many.. She graduated from Cornell University College of Architecture Art and Planning and remains interested in those three subjects.
Andrea loves to tell stories in pictures. Butterflies are always interesting and make a perfect background to tell your own story. She painted and wrote this Karner Blue Nabokov Butterfly using words to describe its Linnaean classification, its food source and enemies plus the reference to Vladimir Nabokov, butterfly collector, professor of Russian literature at Cornell. Nabokov's research was honored with the butterfly being named after him.
This class is open to all ages and will help you create a butterfly that will say what you want it to say. Your art can be turned into a sticker or kept as a painting. Beer, wine, and soda will be included, and you can always complete the night with a dinner in the Tap following class!
