The Penn Club proudly welcomes famed producer, and seven-time Tony Award winner, Fran Weissler. Join our Inter-Club friends as she shares the story of how she became a Broadway producer and highlights some of her most memorable moments in the theater, from this season’s hit Finding Neverland to the longest running American Musical in history, Chicago. We’ll also get the inside scoop on her upcoming new musical Waitress. The evening will be a unique opportunity to get a glimpse at the drama and comedy that happens behind the curtain of some of your favorite shows from this trailblazing female producer.

7:00pm Lecture and Q&A 7:30pm.  $42 plus tax and gratuity per Member, and $47 plus tax and gratuity per guest for reservations made by Tuesday, October 20th. $52 plus tax and gratuity per Member, and $57 plus tax and gratuity per guest for late reservations.  Price includes sushi, one drink, and admission to the lecture.

About Fran Weissler:
In 1968, Fran Weissler, along with her husband and partner, Barry, established National Artists Management Company, Inc. (NAMCO), an entertainment production company based in New York City. 

Fran and Barry are the winners of seven Tony Awards: Othello, the Weisslers’ Broadway debut starring James Earl Jones and Christopher Plummer; Fiddler on the Roof with Topol; Gypsy with Tyne Daly; Annie Get Your Gun with Bernadette Peters and Reba McEntire; the worldwide hit, Chicago; the 2010 revival of La Cage Aux Folles with Kelsey Grammer; and the 2013 revival of Pippin starring Patina Miller and Andrea Martin.  Chicago -- which has been running continuously on Broadway for the last 19 years and is the longest running American musical in the world. The show’s global success has reached over 25 countries and has been translated into a dozen languages.

Other notable Broadway credits include Cabaret with Joel Grey; Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Kathleen Turner; Zorba with Anthony Quinn; My One & Only with Tommy Tune; My Fair Lady with Richard Chamberlain; William Finn’s Falsettos; Grease! with Megan Mullally; Seussical with Rosie O’Donnell; Wonderful Town with Brooke Shields; Sweet Charity with Christina Applegate; the West End premiere of Neil Labute’s Fat Pig; and Kander and Ebb’s The Scottsboro Boys, directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman.  The Weisslers currently license internationally the 2012 Tony Award winning musical Once. They are also the Executive Producer of this season’s new Broadway hit musical, Finding Neverland
