The Rise of Gig and Alternative Work in the U.S.: What It Means for You and the Economy

Alan Krueger's research on the sharing economy has already made national news. He will discuss new evidence on the growth of jobs in the sharing economy, such as Uber drivers, and more traditional alternative work relationships, such as on-call workers.  He will also discuss the implications of these trends for the economy and public policy.

Alan Krueger, ILR '83, served as Chairman of President Obama's Council of Economic Advisers and a member of his Cabinet in 2011-13.  An internationally heralded economist, professor, author, speaker, and columnist, Alan Krueger was Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy and Chief Economist of the U.S. Department of the Treasury in 2009-10 and Chief Economist at the U.S. Department of Labor during the Clinton Administration. He earned both an A.M. and Ph.D in economics from Harvard; and has held a joint appointment in the Economics Department and Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton since 1987. He is the founding Director of the Princeton University Survey Research Center.

Take advantage of this chance to have one of the world's top economists share his thoughts with you.
