New York State of Wine Tasting

You don't always have to cross the ocean or the country to enjoy top-tier wines. Did you know that the Empire State is also a winemaking powerhouse? The third-largest producer of wine in the United States, New York is home to 471 wineries and 35,000 acres of vineyards. With its rich winemaking history and innovative spirit, New York has a demonstrated track record of producing quality wines that win over more critics and consumers with each vintage.  

Join us for a guided tasting of five wines from a few of New York's most acclaimed producers. Some of the featured wineries are led by graduates of Cornell University's prestigious Viticulture & Enology program at The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. 

The evening will kick off with a reception featuring sparkling wine from Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery (Finger Lakes). We'll then enjoy a guided tasting of Riesling from Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard (Finger Lakes), Viognier from RGNY (North Fork), rosé from Channing Daughters (Bridgehampton), and Cabernet Franc from Paumanok Vineyards (North Fork).

The tasting will be led by wine writer and presenter Wanda Mann, creator of Wine With Wanda. Wanda was recently announced as the host of the awards ceremony for the 2024 New York Wine Classic. She is the East Coast Editor for The SOMM Journal and her writing has also been featured in Food & Wine, NAPA Magazine, and other publications. Wanda has been a presenter at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, the Women in Wine Leadership Symposium, the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, and the Nantucket Wine & Food Festival. Wanda is the immediate past president of Les Dames d'Escoffier New York, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to women pursuing careers in food, wine & spirits, and hospitality. She also serves on the board of the Society of Wine Educators.

6:00pm Reception, 6:30pm Tasting.  $55 plus tax and service per person. Reservations are final sale on Tuesday, July 16th at 12:00pm.
