A panel discussion with four experts talking about the City's opportunities and challenges presented by its over 500 miles of waterfront.  From the early 1600s the life and fortunes of New York City have been inextricably linked to the sea, the bay, the rivers, and the sound. Today, billions of dollars of economic activity are due to the City's waterfront and New Yorkers have made the waterways a part of everyday life. But this asset presents a number of critical risks, many exposed by Hurricane Sandy. This panel will look at these risks and the strategies the City is employing to take full economic, architectural, and recreational advantage of its storied waterfront.
