A single tweet can provoke headlines across the world.  Traditional cable networks and print publications alike have gradually adapted their coverage to suit the new reality of a 24-hour news cycle where the political conversation starts on twitter. But, as any working journalist can tell you, we’ve only reached the tip of the iceberg; new platforms emerge every day, creating a media environment in flux. No one knows this better than Kate Snow ’91.

Kate Snow is anchor of “MSNBC Live with Kate Snow,” an Emmy-winning National Correspondent for NBC News, and  anchor of “NBC Nightly News” Sunday editions.  Snow began anchoring “MSNBC Live” in September 2015, a weekday 1 hour news program covering the top stories of the day. Her reporting appears across all platforms of NBC News and MSNBC, and she serves as a fill-in anchor for Nightly News and TODAY.  Prior to being named National Correspondent for NBC News in 2013, Snow was a correspondent for the primetime news magazine, Rock Center with Brian Williams.

Snow has covered politics throughout her career, including five presidential elections, the White House, and Congress. Her first Emmy was awarded in 2014 for the series “Hooked: America’s Heroin Epidemic”.  Her 2015 series about transgender children was called a “phenomenon,” as millions of people watched a video about 5-year-old Jacob that went viral on social media. In September of 2016, Snow won her 2nd Emmy Award for the Dateline special “The Cosby Accusers Speak” and was also nominated in two other categories.

Snow is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a Master’s degree in international affairs from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She works closely with many charitable organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

6:00-6:30pm reception; 6:30pm lecture, gratis. Advance reservations required. Members and guests are invited to dine at The Club with Ms. Snow following the lecture. The cost is $40 per person, inclusive of tax, gratuity and one glass of wine with dinner. Dinner reservations are required 48 hours prior to the program.
