Join us on a walking tour that will acquaint us with the history and layout of Cornell's newest backyard -- Roosevelt Island. One of New York's most curious places, its geographic isolation from Manhattan made it a center for the city's welfare centers of the 19th century, and drew the visits of several notables including Charles Dickens and Nellie Bly (of Around the World in 80 Days fame). Today, it is a thriving area and site of Cornell's future tech campus, boasting a gorgeous view of the New York skyline. Stops on this tour include such landmarks as the FDR Four Freedoms Memorial, The "Renwick Ruin," The Chapel of the Good Shepherd, and The Blackwell House, as well as exactly where Cornell's new home will be.

11:00am tour.  $25 per person.  The exact meeting place will be provided the week of the tour.  Advance reservations required by Wednesday, November 11th, at which time they are considered final sale.

Reservations for this event are closed.  Please contact Raechel at 212.692.1381 if you have any questions.
